AUCHINAIRN COMMUNITY CENTER

A new community centre and early years facility was built in Auchinairn in East Dunbartonshire in 2018 where it has replaced an existing Nursery.

Location:

Glasgow, Scotland

Type of Work:

Cultural and Recreational Facilities

Practice:

Holmes Miller Architects

Overview

The nursery and community centre has become a central part of community life in the area. The building form is defined by pitched roof volumes which address the street and public plaza space and create a building of domestic scale that is approachable and unintimidating. The proposed building utilises a limited palette of high quality, durable and robust materials, and is designed to present a sophisticated, refined and appropriate form within this area of Auchinairn.
