Overview

Kirkliston Early Years Center provides nursery and Primary 1 spaces for Kirkliston Primary School, designed to support early learning through play and outdoor access. The L-shaped single-storey layout links two wings via a shared dining area. Open-plan rooms connect directly to covered outdoor areas. Simple vernacular forms and exposed timber structure echo the village character, creating a familiar, domestic setting. A CLT and Glulam frame, fabric-first approach, and MVHR system ensure low energy use and reduced carbon footprint.
